FAQ
Is Brickie Grip waterproof?
Brickie Grip is water resistant, not fully waterproof.
It is designed to handle sweat, rain and wet mortar conditions.
It is not made for full submersion or soaking.
Will the colour fade?
Yes, over time, especially under harsh sun, constant use and wet and dry cycles.
Fading is completely normal and does not affect performance.
Does the finishing tape wear out?
The finishing tape can wear faster than the grip itself, especially with heavy use.
That is expected. Many brickies rewrap the end or replace it once it starts lifting.
The grip underneath will usually still be solid.
How long does it take to install?
About 1 to 2 minutes per trowel.
Quick steps
Start at the base of the handle
Wrap tightly with slight overlap
Finish with tape
Done before your mud is even mixed.
Will it fit my trowel?
Brickie Grip is designed to fit most standard bricklaying trowels.
It can also be used on pointing trowels, plastering tools and other hand tools with similar handles.
What does it actually improve?
Brickie Grip helps reduce hand fatigue, improve grip in wet or sweaty conditions and give better control on the trowel.
It is a comfort and performance upgrade, not a medical or therapeutic product.
Can I reuse it?
Once removed, it will not reapply well.
It is best treated as a replaceable consumable, like tape or gloves.
How tight should I wrap it?
Firm and snug.
Too loose means slipping.
Too tight makes it harder to wrap evenly.
After one go, you will dial it in perfectly.
Will it slip once installed?
If wrapped correctly, it should not slip.
Wrap it tight with a slight overlap and finish it properly with tape to lock it in place.
Does it leave residue on the handle?
No heavy residue.
Over time you might notice a light adhesive transfer, which can be easily wiped off.
Can I use it on a worn or dirty handle?
Yes, but for best results start with a clean, dry handle.
This helps the grip bind properly and last longer.
How long does it last?
It depends on how often you are on the tools and the conditions you are working in.
With daily use, most brickies will get weeks to months out of it.
Heavy use and rough conditions will wear it faster.
Does it make the handle thicker?
Yes, slightly.
It adds a bit of cushioning for comfort and control without making the handle feel bulky.
Can I use it without the finishing tape?
You can, but the tape helps secure the end and stop it from lifting over time.
For the best result, always finish with tape.
Does it work in extreme heat?
Yes, Brickie Grip is built for hot Australian conditions.
Like any material, constant exposure to extreme heat will increase wear over time, but it will still perform on the job.
